I have just been to my LFS and saw a tankful of the most beautiful fish. I asked what they were and the LFS keeper said Coloured Widows. They are very delicate fish which are silverly coloured with a stripe of blue or pink at the top and flowing fins.

Any ideas?

These are almost certainly dyed fish, a very cruel practice that results in high mortality and serious health problems for the survivors. Paint is injected by needle, a painful and stressful procedure which often leads to tumours and other serious illnesses. There is a campaign to ban the sale of dyed fish in this country. I would not personally shop from a store that sold dyed fish- and I would let them know why!

Please do not buy any dyed fish and don't shop anywhere that stocks them
