the colour of my silver mollys seems to be changing slightly to a pale grey is this normal?and my black molly has given birth to baby fry.i have only seen one swimin round,i just hope it survives.it only comes out every so often,i new she was pregnant but didnt know when she would give birth.the fry has took shape of a little molly lets hope it lives long enough.

well i got more than i expected ive seen a few more swiming around this morning lets hope they survive :good:

:( well my female molly died yesterday, she was hiding from the male cos he kept harrasing her and she got stuck in my filter and i was really upset she had only been a mum for a few days.so i have quarintined him to see if he will calm down.

hi,
sorry to hear about your molly getting stuck and then losing her life, how did she get in to the filter?
sounds like you have a pushy male there, if he wont calm down you may have to find him a new home, some fish are like that im afraid, what sex are the mollys you have left?
male live bearers can be a pain i dont have males anymore. hope the fry is still ok,donna :)

i now have3 females cos i just gone out and bought another to replace the one that died ,i also got a baby male he should be fine with him being small.well i hope so anyway.do u think that the baby mollys will survive in the tank they have plenty of hiding places.the woman in the lfs said that they should be fine.do you think they would be ok?they are about half an inch long.the female swam down the back trying to get away from him and got stuck in the back of the filter.

hi,
the fry have done well so far not to be eaten by the danois or fintail cat you have, how many fry have you got? they should be ok, if you want them all to survive you may have to get a fry tank, but i would let them get on with it. ok so you have 3 female and 1 small male, what are the plans for the big male?
now you have the small male i would not put the big male in, the small one would get picked on for sure.
good luck with the fry, donna :)

at the moment he is in a breader tank or a quarintine tank to see if he will calm down he is still in the main tank it just adds on to it.my sister in law lent me it cos she had the same problem with one of her mollys after a day or two in there he calmed down,so i'm just
hopeing this will happen to him.thanks for your help and advice donna :thanks:i think i have about four fry they are ducking and diving everywhere lol

i managed to get three baby fry out of my main tank today and put them in with the baby male molly that i bought. :fun: i had fun putting them in there. There is still a few more left i think but i will wait for them to surface before a catch them. wow what a day i've had today,it been great. ;)

hi,
a trick i know of is to have some plants floting on top of the water, the fry tend to go in there, it works when they are newborn, they feel safe in it, glad youve had a great day  , all the beat donna :)

thanks donna
you have been great, :flowers: all this advice,i knew you would come up with the answers .im still tryin to catch a few i will get there.thanks again :thanks: i will let you know how the fry are gettin on.
