Hi one of my female guppies has darkened in colour and isnt acting normal anymore.

She seems to stay away from other fish, bit sluggish. all other fish are fine.

Any ideas?

what are your water stats? how old is she?

water stats all all good. ammonia 0 nitrate <0.3 nitrite 12.5 (or are they the other way round i always forget, but there fine)

i dont know how old she is, and i have wondered if its just getting old as you never know how old they are when you get them do you! :(

you have nitrIte and nirAte mixed up but nitrite should be 0, but still guppies dont live that long, so depending on how old they are when you get them, they might not last long at all, i suggest you do a water change to gelp with your nitrites as well

Is she pregnant?

Sometimes Guppies will stay away from other fish, when they are about to have babies, so they have a lesser chance of their fry getting eaten.

Other then that...I can't think of anything, besides what BOD said.

Darkening of colour can also mean a bacteria infection, how old is she.

:p dunno wilder, as i said no idea how old she was when i got her. had her about 8 months now.

nope not pregnant (for a change lol)

she just isnt swimming about as per normal, she now stays in one spot sinks a bit swims back up. if you put food in, she swims over to it, has a bite, then hangs around again.

She's definately off it, is she eating if not, issolate her and try anti internal bacteria med, good luck, try some shelled peas to give her a clear out.
