Hey! not much to say really but to show some pics, this is my betta, named Arashi (apparently it's japanese for "Storm" [I know they're not japanese but it's kinda asian which is good enough for me :) ]) .. anyway, he's a marble betta, and as such within just a couple of weeks he's changed from the first pic of blue.. to white!!.. nice little surprise :),

but i'm also concerned as the condition of his fins seems to have gone a bit downhill!! I'm not familiar with fin rot or anything so wondered what you guys think? His fins just seem a little more rugged than they used to be.

Please excuse the state of the plants and glass reflection!

Thanks for any help or observations!! :good:

Both gorgeous colours :) I agree his fins do look a bit more raggedy now. I don't know whether it's wise to treat with a med for it if it's not a definite diagnosis though, so we'll have to wait for an expert :)

Thanks! :) I actually had no idea marble bettas changed colour until I suddenly noticed a whole portion of his finnage had gone white.. there was a period of a few minutes before I found out it was completely natural when I thought he was becoming a silver fox of the fish world!

i would say fin rot, is he in a tank on his own? he could be getting nipped

How long does it usually take for the symptoms of finrot to escalate? It's hard to tell if it's gotten any worse over the last week or so..it just doesn't seem to be getting any better back to how he was before.. and nope, he's on his own atm!.. 7.5 uk gallon tank all to himself :)

Would there be any harm in treating for finrot anyway?
