Got a phone call from the lfs to say my gouramis had finished quarentine - totally forgot i had ordered a sexed pair lol (bloody MS i forget my head if it werent attatched)
the lfs has had 3 sexed pair in quarentine for me for 6 weeks so i could get a nice healthy pair to pick from these 3 pairs but as is well known with dwarf gouramis 2 pairs died of bacterial infection , this pair survived and are lovely healthy fish , i have added them to the rio 180 and they are settling in fine ;) , well the male is the female is still really jumpy

the male is gorgeous  he's also enjoying munching on my excess guppy fry

the rio 180 is quite heavilly planted so the male and female hopefully should be ok together , there are some caves that the wood makes and also 2 coconut caves i'm hoping there wont be much aggression as these 2 have been together for so long already in a bare tank while in quarentine

IS THERE anything else i really need to know about this fish that from fellow owners that isnt on the standard research

Thanks Sarahxx

very nice addition there sarah, truly beautiful fish, i had a pair once, as long as you have appropriate cover they will be fine, they may pick on other fish sometimes, but if they have some where to escape theyll be fine!

i love them and i've kept loads but all mine died within 3 months from bacterial infections even though i tried endlessly to save them. they all went anorexically thin and were gasping at the surface and lying on the bottom propped up by rocks and stuff. it's horrible to see them go like that but i hope yours are okay :) he's a gorgeous fish so good luck :)

aww thanks both for the comments
hopefully these should be ok after the 6 week quarentine :)
fingers crossed :)

awww ty , he's really enjoying munching those newborn guppys that decide to venture out of the plants lol

LMAO yes I bet he is, they will soon learn to stay out his way.

dont matter i always leave them in the tank so survival of the fittest so if they arent quick enough to swim out of his way then they arent really good fishies , they usually get nabbed by the harlequins so the slow/weak ones now will be eaten up more often :)
