Hi,

I have a friend who is adamant that he keeps 2 black coldwater fantails swimming happily alongside his tropical fish!!

Now i am yet to see this with my own eyes but, he states his water temperature is around 80 degrees and they are fine. Am i missing something here, i thought coldawater fantails like temperatures between 65-72 degrees.

Please could some of you experts advise me on this because i would love to have some in my tropical tank if this would work.

Thanks,

Stu.

nope, doesn't work. They might "look" happy, but thwey are probably suffering. I would advise your friend to remove them, and make sure he has at least a 30 gallon tank (goldys need 20 gals + 10 gals for additonal goldys)

Yes the goldfish may look happy however they will not live to their full potential. Goldfish do prefer much lower temperatures.
