A question for you light experts

does anyone know how much lux/luminesance/k (or equivalent wattage)
two 12" white cold cathodes give out?
I am going to add these to my existing lighting and was just wondering about it.

I've just bought 2 blue ones & I would judge the output at an equivelant to a 20w light. It's too bright to be honest but the kit I bought of ebay came with a nice 1000ma transformer & voltage adjust dial so I can turn it down a few notches.

Don't forget the lower the elctricity going through the higher the ampage so make sure you buy one with a decent transfmormer if you wish to turn it down.

ok with hours and hours of searching I came up with
a luminescence of 15000cd/m²
what on earth does that mean?

Bottom line, very little. Cold cathodes are frequently used as moonlights.

I know that I ahve all my tanks using CC moonlights
all this is for is making the back of the tank lighter
as it is quite dark atm.

you would think that somewhere out there one person in the whole wide world has put a light meter on a CC and posted the lux
