"Why Utah?!"
So I bought some “black sandâ€￾ from someone local and when I got it, it turned out to be something called coal slag. I wanted to use it in my black calvus tank to help with their dark color and make them feel more comfortable, but I’m concerned.

Should I be? What’s the verdict on coal slag for cichlid tanks? Also, what about slag and plants?

I think i would leave it out of your tank im not sure how it would be in an tank as its mainly carbon also very abrasive which may damage your fishs gills .

If you want black sand use titan moon sand
