i was wondering if it was worth getting a Co2 dispenser for my new planted it is the rio 180l

cheers

i was thinking this untill a few weeks ago. i bought a hagen natural plant system about 10 days ago - its been running now for around 6 days and i can already see a difference in growth.

the plants are much more bushy, not growing all thin and leggy up to the light as they were before, and they are bubbling like crazy!

from my expereince I'd say get one - but if your lights etc arent of a good level then it may not balance out and be worth it.

Totally worth it. I can't believe how much my amazon sword has grown in a mere month. I bet it has trippled in size. The leaves were maybe 8 inches, and now they bend at the sursase of my 18" high tank. My grassy plants has thrown off more runners in 3 weeks than it did in 3 months. My val is going nuts! Again. Maybe 10 inches when purchased, and now the 18" high, and spreading at least another 10 across the surface of the water!

I had no idea it would be this beneficial. And I'm using a system that is only designed for a 20 gal tank - and I have a 35. I'm going to transfer it to my new 90 that I'm getting to see what it does in there.

decide for yourself.

heres my rio180. (with 2 hagen co2 units) and 120W of lighting (4 tubes)

Adding CO2 will benefit all plants. The standard lighting on a Rio 180 is fairly low but you will still see improvement. Obviously reflectors and decent tubes will help too.
