Noooooooooooooooooooo, you can add plants right away just do daily water changes for the first couple of weeks and the ammonia spike will settle and the tank will cycle silently, us planted folk do this a lot and it means you can add fish after a few days, just keep up with water changes.

If only that was an option for me, unfortunately I'm away from home Sunday to Friday for the next 5 weeks so daily water changes aren't possible but thanks for the advice I wish I could do it this way
