Hi there,

I have the tank in the sig which is pretty heavily planted, i really fancy adding some CO2 for the plants but have never ever used it before.

Can someone advise a decent CO2 setup which is simple to use and isnt overly expensive.

First off, have a read of the pinned CO2 article, that should answer most of your questions. You have two choices, yeast type CO2 or pressurised. Either would work on this tank. Yeast is cheaper but needs more work, pressurised is more expensive but easier to work and run.

HHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMM, in the long haul, I think pressurized is likely cheaper. In my 125Gal I will likely only have to buy CO2 every eighteen months at $24. per fill. With DIY you will be buying sugar and yeast on, at best, a monthly basis.

i going with pressurized too,

i used to have yeat,, it gave me a good CO2 result's bad not the limit that i want.. and you need to change the recip every two weeks.. mine was every one week..!

but with a good reactor that i made and 3 KG cylinder with a decend regulator, running 24 / 7..

i maintain 30 ppm and more...

my plant's growing like a mad..

and i refill my cylinder every 4 months almost. depend's on the tank size..

mine 55 US gallon..

Actually, I've succeeded in making a DiY pressurised CO2 setup for 15 pounds... I'm still trying to get a pipe-reducer to make it look better (atm, I have a pipe with the end filled with hot glue and a smaller pipe stuck through it... Refills cost 50p per bottle (I have 9, 12 and 20 Oz bottles - they refill them all for the same cost)

As I said in my other post, help me find a 1/2inch -> 1/4inch pipe reducer and I'll make a whole how-to on how its made ;)
