Hi all whats the best time after lights come on to test for co2 levels as ph differs from morning to night would the co2 level remain the same all day even if your ph rises am i being thick or what :/

When the lights first come on, thats when co2 is the highest if you leave the co2 on at night. The least is when the lights are almost off, because thats when plants use all the co2 they can use before the lights are off.

i dont leave my co2 on at night im aiming @30ppm as i am going to use the EI method my lights are on 5hrs 0ff 2hrs on 5hrs im just confused

If you want the lowest pH, it'd probably be after the second lighting period comes on, which is after the 2hrs off. Check it then, and see what you co2 is, that is when its the highest because of all the buildup during the 2hrs.

It states on the pinned topic zigs estimated index try and keep the co2 at 30ppm and as stable as possible but if your ph rises during the day, when are people testing for example they say they have readings of ph11 and kh 10 =30ppm this cannot stay the same all day (can it) so are they taking this reading as the highest reading they get?or do they set there co2 so they get the same ph reading all day?would this require a ph controller?
am i making sense :S

I get what you mean. I don't think Zig meant to keep your co2 at 30ppm every single minute. If generally, lets say every morning, the co2 is around 30ppm, it will be fine.

wish you had asked moody would have saved me some of my typing skills(not) well im going to check mine about an hour after lights on i think, and set my co2 to come on an hour before the lights come on but will still check through the day so i know i have it set right
