Hi all

I started using pressurised CO2 in my 300l tank about 6 weeks ago. So far the level has been pretty stable with the drop checker staying in the green. This morning it had turned yellow. I have now done my 40% change (which was due anyway). I have also cleared out most of the floating plants. These were covering 75% of the surface.

Could that have been my problem - i.e. not enough light getting through to the plants in the tank for them to photosynthesise? I hope so cos the JBL regulator I have is not very sensitive and it took ages for me to get the flow right in the first place. -_-

do you leave your co2 on over night? could it be its going yellow every night you just dont see it?

Yeh it could well be the reduced light, but I wouldn't expect that to happen over night, rather it would be a gradual process.

Nope - the solenoid is on the same timer as the lights. This morning I made the tiniest adjustment I could and my bpm dropped from 26 to 2  so now I am looking for a new flow control device. The colour is now between green and yellow so I guess it will take a couple of days to get back to normal.

Does anyone know how effective the in-line controllers are? I have seen these advertised and if they works I could just open the reg fully and use that - or should I just get a better regulator?
