Just built myself a co2 reactor, really easy(must be if i can do it!)using a powerhead, and a gravel vac filled with some bio balls and sponge=100% OF CO2 DISSOLVED!

they are quite easy...

I'm guessing the power head flow is fed in the top of the grave vac with the CO2 bubbling up throught the bio balls...

Have any of you used the DIY co2 Injection using a coke bottle using sugar and yeast ??

yep - works fine... weve moved onto cylinders now - but used diy for nearly a year.

man did you mean SUGAR AND YEAST?!

and how can i make it?

umm.. yes...

take a coke bottle and drill a hole in the cap. seal some air line to this hole.

add yeast sugar and warm water to the bottle and the mix will make co2.

then you need to defuse it in to the water... see above

I'm really interested in this but I'm worried it will harm my fish. What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Would making a CO2 reacter probably help me learn more about fishkeeping or just end in disaster?

Its just another way of introducing the co2 to the water.I was using the hagen ladder but i noticed after a new batch that the bubbles were not dissolving much (still reaching the surface quite big),this way the bubble is broken up in a vortex and then dissolved, if any bubbles do escape they are still very small.
