So I have a ten gallon, 5 fish: one platy, two loaches and these small pretty white things (not the discus ones either). I have a bunch of plants: Some kind of grass, i think mini-sword or something like that, and three different types of rotella (all doing wonderfull).

First: I have my light on a timer. Should I put my co2 (its a diy system) on the timer as well? (its diffused through a powerhead)

Second: Would it hurt any to make three bottles of diy yeast and attached them to one main line? I've noticed my batches dont last that long (my plants start to look odd when the co2 stops runnin). I was thinking about putting them on a three way metal gang valve (i think thats what its called) and put a a check valve on each bottle/batch, that way I'll have a continual flow of co2.

Third: I'm gonna make a diffuser to attach to the powerhead. Any advice would help. My idea was put some small bioballs in a long tube (probably a gravel filter tube) and have the out-flow of the powerhead flow through the tube. The tube'll hang on the outside of the tank. Should I make the out-flow of the tube enter towards the bottom of the tank/middle/or does it matter? And what the crap and how the crap does venturi work  ?

Thanks much

I have seen a few pictures of peoples DIY co2 setups where they use 3 bottles. I am assuming that they change each bottle at intervals as to not overload the tank with co2.
