ok, so planted tanks using EI should be having 30ppm?

this chart http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/at...-co2-chart.gif says over 25ppm can be harmfull to fish? so what gives?

also my tap water is kh8 ph7.6

so at 30ppm CO2 my ph will drop to 6.9? correct?

if this is correct my ph will rise a lot doing 50% water changes!
which cant be good for the fish either!

now i want to succeed with my plants but not at the cost of causing my fish a lot of stress!

thoughts please!?

link doesnt work.
But anyway dont go above 35ppm and you will be fine (yellow drop checker), some people do (me included  ) but it comes with experience.
pH6.9 sounds about right, what pH is your tap water?

kh8 ph7.6 outta the tap, i've since been told that the table is not accurate because other factors like substrate, wood, rocks etc can mess the kh buffer up!
Just when ya think ya got yer head around summut! :-/

yes, tables are innacurate, see the guide (drop checkers) in my sig for info on how to measure CO2. The pH isnt much difference, and changing 50% you could say it will rise slightly to 7.2
not something i would worry about too much, and in fact it is the first time i have heard someone ask about pH changes with water changes!
