How much risk is involved when doing a Co2 system? Not so much for the plants. but whats the likley-hood of being able to kill the fish?

Heres the scenario, I've got a 29gallon (US) tank that I'm beginning to plant, if I buy this CO2 System from Petsmart and just buy a bunch of plants (already some in the tank), would that be able to cause death to the fish? (Note, I believe the system is made for a 20gallon tank.) Thanks, I'm just trying to get a prespective on things.

This is a great CO2 system. It is rated for tanks 20g or less, but I'm using one on my 29g. When you get the packets for the mixture, throw them away. It's much easier, cheaper, and more effective to make your own with 1/2 tsp yeast, 1/2 cup sugar, and water. One unit should be fine for 29g if you have low lighting (1.5-2.25wpg). Above that, try making your own reactor out of a 2l bottle by cutting a hole in the lid, putting tubing 1 inch inside, and sealing around the hole THOROUGHLY with silicone sealant. The only part of the unit that I use now is the ladder to diffuse the CO2. I have a gang valve and two 2l bottles going to it and I have 30 ppm CO2.

There is no harm to your fish. As of yet, no correlation has been found between CO2 saturation and O2 saturation.

^Sorry for the rambling, hope I answered your question.

You wont harm your fish if adding ONE of these to a 29Gal tank. Nutrafin state that each canister is good for supplying Co2 for tanks upto 70Ltrs.

With 29 gallons, you can easily and safely use 2 of these ( or a 2Ltr bottle ), you can use a 'T' connector
to feed the output from both canisters into a single Nutrafin 'bubble ladder'.
