A/C went out in the house, the temperature went up. My CO2 was running without a bubble counter and it somehow went into overproduction. All my fish are gasping at the surface. I sent my wife out for PH tester and some stress coat. I turned off the co2 unit, turned on the air stone and then added a bigger air stone to the other side. Fish seem to have gone down below the surface...in danger of losing a bunch of them. Added some seachem equilibrium. How long will it take the co2 to disspitate due to the plants and aeration using it up? Haven't lost a fish yet today, but I am expecting a bunch of losses. Pray for me...freakin cardinals are so plump and beautiful...darnit.

With good surface turbulence it shouldn't take very long at all to reach equilibrium.

If they are still alive and you now have the CO2 turned off then you should be OK. and very lucky. When I returned home to that situation a couple of years ago I was greeted by the sight of dead fish floating or upside down on the substrate ;)

Yep, I totally lucked out. If I hadn't noticed it when I did, they would all have been dead (even 5 minutes later I am sure). The good news is that my java fern is pearling...lol. Started injecting very small amounts again and turned off aeration. PH has gone up to 7.6 (?), after being down at 6 or less. Probably because I added too much equilibrium...I panicked. The fish look healthy...the plants look great. Once I do the large water change, things will be back to normal.
