I am currently using the Nutrafin Co2 system with the nutrafin ladder.

The ladder works well but looks a little unsightly IMO.

Would a simple glass diffusor do the same job?

Yes, it could. That said, a reactor would do a MUCH better job, and would look ALOT better. A reactor connects to your filter/pump output, behind your tank, and by the time the water gets sprayed in, the CO2 is already diffused in it. If you want DiY instructions on how to make one, I can type them up....

I use one of the galss ones with the coil in the middle (like this one, and it works great. I have it hidded behind come tall plants, so you can barely see it, or the tubing. I have black tubing and a black background so it dissapears.

Jen, I'm in Ontario also and was wondering if you can buy the glass diffuser anywhere other than Ebay? I use the ladder with my own mixture but I have to take it out ever week to give it a clean. It's a pain taking it out when you have a lot of plants. Does the glass diffuser need periodic cleaning? Sorry to hijack your thread Chris.

Thanks

I havent been able to find it anywhere in canada. There are a couple of US stores that will ship to Canada I think, but the shipping charge was astronomical so I opted for ebay.

Thanks for the info Jen and BigIan. I really like Aquaessentials, but I think the shipping charges will be too much. I'll give Ebay a try.

Depending on the size of your tank, and how much co2 you are using, you might want to get a larger one. I dont have that exact one, it was just the first one I found. Mine has 8 coils on the inside. And of course, look on the UK version of ebay. No point buying from the US and paying a ton for shipping. Just search glass co2 diffusor.

Check out AquaticMagic on Ebay. I've bought a TON of stuff from him and it's always been top notch. He ships worldwide real cheap.

It's for a 24g tank. What size tank are you using yours on?

Thanks for the link :) .

I will check this seller out.

A little off topic, but in general how often do glass diffusers need to be cleaned? Do they clog up easily?

Thanks
