Hello,

Looking to boost CO2 in the tank, but don't want to go down any complicated or expensive route. So what options are there out in the world. I seem to remember a mate had plastic things on side of his tank he used to put sugar in and his tank bloomed! So is there somthing offical like this out there? I do not want to do any DIY projects, want to buy in a box, set up and go. Any help is apprechiated. ta.

this something like your after, how big is the tank?

What's the tank size? Yeast based CO2 is useless on anything over 10G pretty much, I've done it on a 30G but it was a complete hassle, pressurised is the way to go.

Pressurised CO2 is your only realistic choice, the cheapest option would be to use a fire extinguisher and build it yourself, but as per your first post you don't want to do that, so buying a kit for circa £150-200 would be your only option.

The problem with doing it your self is just a cause of concern, I can get fire extinguishers for free but the whole process seems daunting, thats why I remember around 15 years ago a friend used a sugar method.

I felt the same with the FE Co2 but its very easy to setup really. Just read up on the threads in this forum with the step by step guides.

To save money keep your eyes on the classified section on this forum as people are always selling on Co2 stuff.

I have a Rio 180 same as you & here is my set up.

Its a pub co2 bottle, duel dial reducer valve, electric solanoid valve (so I can control it with a time) & a glass diffuser.

Whole lot was less than £30 from Ebay.
