I have been thinking about setting up a decent co2 system in my large aquarium as I have recently replanted it, but was wondering where if possible I can get the empty cillindars refilled in the UK?

Thanks In Advance

Have you tried your lfs ? It depends what service your lfs offer, so ring them and ask.

You more or less have three option :

1) Freeze your empty bottle overnight and take to the shop to have refilled. For the normal 500g bottle this would cost approx £10 - £12 or so.

2) Take your empty cylinder to the shop and exchange for another (this will obviously mean you get a different cylinder every time. Cost more or less the same.

3) Take your frozen cylinder to a Fire Extinguisher refill company - costs about half the price or less :)

You're local (ish) to Mortlake aren't you ? Tropicals & Marines do it for about £12 a 500g bottle. Just freeze bottle overnight and take in for refill.
Always remember to let your bottle warm up to room temperature again before connecting to guage / tank.
