my planted tank has been running for over 4 months now, and i'm finally really happy with it, as well as the fish...i have used the nutrafin kit before and the results were ok, i had about 1 bubble every 6 seconds, and i used one kit for the whole tank (60l). since then i have had more algae than i wanted (obviously no algae it best!!!)

i took it out a while ago when i was restocking with different fish, and have now put two of the nutrafin kits in, at about 1 bubble per 5 seconds for each....this has only been for a day and the fish seem fine, but i don't want to risk anything. however, having just read an article in the latest pfk magazine, it states 'CO2 can help to maintain a neutral to acid pH - preffered by many fish and plants - but use with caution'. this had led me to think that the pH balance may be affected by the CO2?? would this be a problem and how much will it change? i know this a long-winded post but i just wanted to clarify this before i feel happy with using both CO2 kits.

Thanks for any help in advance!

yes injecting co2 can produce carbonic acid that will drop the ph a littlle mine is normaly 7.8 but in my injected plNTED Tnk its 7

Yeh increased CO2 = lower pH. Its not a problem, people run tanks below 6pH with Co2 without any issues. And the balance doesn't really matter either, high light tanks have 50% water changes weekly and the shift in pH this causes has never been an issue. I've yet to notice a difference in my fish due to pH fluctuations, to much CO2 yes  but not the pH.
