After doing some looking around i have decided i like the look of well planted tanks and was wondering is it easy or not do i need Co2 form it to look good or not wat to plant and wat not to plant some help would be very apreciated

it depends alot on what the wattage per gallon is for your lighting. if the lighting is more than 2 watts per gallon then it is beneficial to get some kind of CO2 system, whether it be diy or whatever (see planted tanks forum section). If the wpg (wattage per gallon) is less than 2wpg then a lot of people dont bother, the plants should grow ok, but it might be pretty slow progress, how heavily are you intending to plant the tank? There will already be a little co2 in the tank (around 4ppm) which should be enough with low lighting levels. If there are higher lighting levels with no co2 injection then the plants will grow to the point where the little co2 (4ppm ish) is used up, then the plants will stop growing, and then a risk of an algae bloom arises. what fish are in/ are going to be in the tank? different fish prefer different plants (some fish like to uproot plants) and how big is the tank?

this pinned thread is very useful: *CLICKY*

i am no expert by any stretch of the imagination but i hope i helped :/ :)
