Co2 And A Soda Stream?

OMG!!! your well over my head mate lmao, havent a clue what you just said ,
Sorry rubberdoofa, we did run away a bit with it !
I blame craynerd, for asking all those questions LOL ! :)

It is called Sodastream ! Like you were first asking :)
Check out my post (Number 10, in the thread)
You were asking if you could use bottles of sodastream fizzy water. All I was doing was describing a method of feeding the sodastream gas directly to a diffusion(dissolving) bell in the tank without first having to put it in a bottle of water.

But it does need a bit of DIY and experimentation, so it may not suit everybody.

You know now as its explained that way i can tell you that that was one of my own thoughts accept im hopeless at diy , those initials would stand for distroy it yourself instead.I will repeek at your post and who knows what the future holds............................dead fish or lush plants...........knowing me, both lmao

This is a VERY old thread, but i managed to find it so thought i would give a heads up for anyone trying to do Co2 on the cheap!

DONT POUR FIZZY WATER INTO YOUR TANK!!!!!

it is a waste of time and money and could potentially kill your fish and will do NOTHING for your plants! Co2 needs to be diffused into the water to allow the plants to absorb it!!!

i use Soda Stream on my 125 litre tank,

i use a 60 litre [14.5 oz] soda stream cylinder with an adaptor i got from ebay, a cheap gauge; BnQ,  a needle Valve; BnQ , bubble counter [ optional] and a check valve [again, optional]

This set up initially cost me £40 and the refills for the cylinder are £9.99 from argos

it last for around 3-4 months at 2 bps which is perfect for a tank of my size.

if anyone would like to see the set up i will make time to create a thread which shows how i did it, where i bought stuff from and the results?

Yes please do, I'd be interested.  I've heard of using soda stream but I thought it was hard to get adaptors/regulators to fit.

co2 supermarket do all the stuff you need for a soda stream setup, it costs bout £150 including the sodastream bottle which you can get from Argos or asda or somewhere like that, and then about £10 for refills

Don't buy the co2 adaptor from co2supermarket. Its about £35 from them but you can pick up the exact same off eBay for about £13. Just search soda stream co2 adaptor.

I have this system, but only recently installed so hard to say how good it is and I have nothing to compare it to being my first system. I can say it works just fine though. Waste of time and money buying the glass diffuser though. I feed mine directly into my filter which diffuses very effectively.

The refills are around £9 and one full cylinder is supposed to last me 4 months so pretty good on cost. Overall the co2 supermarket set up is less than half that of leading brands, if you buy the adaptor off eBay that is...
