My 260 litre tank is currently cycling and I have planted it out with aprox 8 different plants. They all seem to have grown (filled out) within a 2 week period. I have no experience with using CO2 in my tanks and after reading all the topics on here, I'm a little confused? Do I really need to add CO2 to my semi planted tank? Will the fish not produce enough CO2 as a waste product to fufill the plants needs? I have seen those Nurafin kits, but they seem to only work in smaller tanks.

Any help much appreciated :good:

CO2 is only needed in high light tanks where the plant growth is so fast that the normal level of CO2 runs out so you have to add more. In lower light tanks its not needed at all, however adding Co2 will help most tanks. The amount the fish produce is negligible. Yes the nutrafin kits are really only for smaller tanks, you can have multiply kits running but that means you'll be changing a mix ever other day or even daily in some case, which puts people off.
