Hi All - apologize in advance if this is not the correct board...

I have been searching the Greater Toronto Area for a 5lb cylinder that is not going to cost me $120 without success - can anyone suggest where I could get one? I don't think they can be shipped so I guess I need to find one locally.

Any suggestions would be really helpful!

how big is your tank? if you can't find a co2 tank and if your tank is not too big you can get away with a DIY co2 system.

and they can be shipped, they just don't ship them full i don't think. so if you can find a place to fill it then just get something off ebay or whatever.

Hi... I'm just south of you in Hamilton.

I got my tank for 110 at a welders shop. But when trying to find a place to fill them, I found tanks for 80. The only place around me that could fill on the spot is a place that fills fire extinguishers. Contact your local fire station and talk to them about where you could get a tank filled, and that place (or even the fire station) might know where you can buy a tank.

Thank you all for your advice! I am setting up a 65G tank. I'd like to use compressed CO2 simply because it appears to be less maintenance with the filled cylinder lasting longer than the DIY system.

I think I might go the ebay route - I know they are shipped empty but it looks like I can get a cylinder shipped and filled locally less than the $120 that CABCAR in Toronto (I think that was who it was).

I will post what happens! Thanks again!
