what is a good pH for a clownfish?

are they social fish?

how many?

how big of tank?

thanks!

Aim for a PH of 8.2 (though a minimum of 8.0 is acceptable)

If you choose common clowns rather than tomatoes, Clarkis or Mariins etc then they are far more sociable. I would advise you buy them small and get a pair. This way you are assured of getting a male/female that will bond.

Although its possible to have more, you will need a larger tank to alleviate territorial problems.

I would say that ideally a 20 gallon tank is fine. However i know some onf here have at least one in smaller tanks.

u can have 2 in a 10 gallon. Percula's of course. Get the biggest one there bcuz it will probly be the female and the smallest one there will be the male and if the biggest one is not a female it will change when it gets in a tank with only a male.

is there a special kind of food to feed salties?

prolly huh?

Krill, mysis are good. Cyclopeze is magicala for clowns beleive me ;) It can also be purchased in flake form too now
