here are some pictures (a pretty lousy one i may add, iphone cameras....sigh)

The anemone may be a majano

The clown doesn't sound good :(

oddly enough though it is very active and eats like a monster!

i hope it's not a majano lol it shouldn't be.. i bought it from my lfs but they had no ID on it..

What does the growth look like, does it look like a hard lump, is it fuzzy, is it smooth surfaced. Does it look fluid filled or knobbly.

Is the anus inflammed, does the lump look like it is protruding from the anus or has it grown in the area. Does there seem to be any fine slithers of blood going through the growth.

These are the types of questions that need answers, there are a few possible things you could be looking at but my experience with diseased fish tends to be more freshwater. There are however a few things to look for that could narrow down the cause of the growth or if in fact it is a growth or some other disease.

Wilder tends to be very good with freshwater and I have worked with her alot in the past. She is very good at determining if the cause is bacterial, fungal, parasitic, viral or tumourous.

In addition what are your water stats.

Have you added anything to the tank recently and what is your maintenance schedule.

Most of all, is there any chance you could borrow a decent camera to get a better more detailed picture for us.

hi

it looks like lymphocystis is a viral invfection but it dose look like cotton wool.

i get it when on large angels when they have not been caught properly and there is no cure for it all you can do is give it a good mixture of diffrent food and garlic guard will slowly improve it or if you can catch it you can just pull it of but reserch lymphocystis and make sure it is the same infection on your fish

regards scott
