My big clowns decided it likes stiring the sand up. Looks like its digging a trench. It sort of moves along quivvering really quicly for a few seconds in the sand.

Whats it doing? is it normal? still eating loads, it only does it for a second or two every now and again. Always in the same spot. There is no marks on th fish at all

cheers

Yep perfectly normal. Not 100% sure why they do it but mine do the same. It does it under the mushroom its hosts which is normal (think it cleans the area around where it hosts to prepear for laying eggs). It actually digs out quiet a big crater in the sand here.

I have noticed it do it in other areas of the tank though, mine normally does it not long after feeding and I think it does it to stir up any food thats on the substrate.

Hopefully someone else can explain exactly why they do this but I can assure you it is normal.

cheers mate, asked on another site and they said it was spawing behaviour aswel. that would be quite cool

yeah, mine female has been showing a lot of spawning behaviour. Suprising though as the smaller one is still juvinile and I would image not ready for mating yet (he is still tiny!).

if they do lay i will have a bash at raising them i think.
Think my males still young. Hes B&W about 2" with an orange nose still. Females probably double his size
