Clown Pleco?

I was sold this little guy as a clown pleco, but his stripes seem to be fading quite a lot... please tell me he is a clown and wont grow massive!!!

Yep, hes a clown. Clowns color up under darker substrate. They really dont eat algae, mine just eats driftwood a food that gos in the tank.

good i rarely get to see him these days as he's always hiding under his wood so i'd obviously thought he was stripeyer (is that even a word?)

Nope. Its not a word. my clown plec does the same. Hides under the wood.
