Hi all, I would like to know approximately how long clown loaches survive in captivity. I have, sorry had, 5 in my tank, and 3 have died in the last 24 hours. I'd had these 3 fish for about 5/6 years, and they were about 4"+ in length and appeared to be in good health, until yesterday, all my other fish, all communial fish, appear to be OK. The other 2 clowns seem to be OK as well. I was wondering if they just died of old age.

There is no way that all of them died of old age at almost the same time.
I have no idea what they died from, but not old age. They grow to 18 inches wit life span of 15+ years, in captivity 8, 10 inches is not uncommon.

I've heard that they live for up to 20 years, and I remember reading on this forum of someone who had some that were at least 9 years old and about 7-8 inches!!

I would do some water checks and other checks just to make sure. My big boy is 10'' now and going strong.
