I have an outbreak of ich in my tank. The worst affected fish are the clown loaches. I also have two (so far) unaffected juvenile Angel fish and six tetras who are starting to show the effects.

It has been a while since I've had a tank with ich so I went to the fish shop for advice and they gave me Myxazin to treat the tank but it says on the bottle that it's a bacterial medicine so I am reluctant to use it if it's not going to help.

It has a small amount of malachite green in it so I'm assuming it may help but is it worth returning for another product?

Myxazin is made by Waterlife. Their ich medication is protozin not myxazin. Waterlife's website doesn't mention using myxazin for ich, or any other parasite, only bacterial diseases.

I tried waterlife protozin for ich and it did nothing, but it did work for finrot. I'm currently using interpet no6 anti white spot, can't say if it works yet only second day of treatment so i'll get back to you.

If you can, try to get a bottle of Kordon Rid-Ich plus....works great. although i do not know if it can be bought in UK

The one I use is king british original formula ws3. Ive found it works well even at half dose (I have loaches). I only suggested protozin as Sofia's shop obviously stocks that brand.
