Clown Loaches.. Kissing???

Today my clown loaches started what it appears like is kissing. They are putting their mouths together, clamping down and then letting go.. I have no idea what this is. They are both about 2 inches (not incl. tails) and have plenty to eat and space to hide (enough I think) under two large ceramic pots.

What are they doing? and should I separate them?

Someone must know something??? I looked on loaches online, but couldn't find anything.. ARG.

Awwww. the lil buggers are in love. Neither can control their urges for each other.

Hmm, maybe they just ended up that way at one point? Maybe there is a police force and they are exchanging illegal drugs without the cops knowing?

While that is possible I do not think it is likely. I was thinking maybe they were smuggling jewlery.. but you never know.

Any other ideas?
