I have 4 lovely clown loaches that have ich. I have treated the tank with Interpet Ich (No 6 i think) and have the temperature high, but it doesn't seem to be showing signs of going away.

Any other meds that I can give them to help out?

Any other ideas?

Cheers

Hey there,
I use Quick Cure when my loaches become ill. But make sure you only use half the recommended dose. Also did you remove the carbon in your filter? The carbon will take the medication out of the water before it does any good. You can also try using a half of teaspoon of aquarium salt per 10 gallons, but don't put too much salt in because it will burn the loaches, since they do not have any scales.
Hope your little guys get better real soon!

I use WS3 by King British. The lfs staff told me it's actually a medicine for commercial fishfarmers so it's more effective than the normal King British medicine for ich. And of course you can only put half the dosage in. Good luck! :flowers:

My 2 loaches developed ICK after adding a Pleco. I raised the temp to about 80 degrees, added some salt (3/4 normal dose), and did half doses of Quick Cure about 5 times a week for about 2 weeks. I did 30% water changes twice a week during this treatment, adding a little salt back with the water. I also treated with MelaFix near the end of the two weeks to help prevent bacterial infection. I did a real big water change at the end of my treatment and did not add salt back to the tank. I am not adding any more salt with my weekly water changes.

It has been about a month since I finished treatment and the signs of ICK are gone.
