i know that they get big but my clown loach is my favorite fish. I am trying in letting my parents let my get a 55 gallon so he will live a happy life :D Now ive read that the clown likes to be in groups, my current cloen is 1 inch and i was thinking of going back to mt lfs and buying the 2 other clown they have that are 1 inch. what your thoghts?btw the 2 clowns im buying will in my current tank until i can get my 55.

Out of curiosity, why do you have clowns in a 55g kevin007? :p A 55 is not sufficient for an adult 14" clown, but it takes years for them to grow to that size :) Many fish keepers can't even stay in the hobby or keep the clowns alive for that long!

my plan 20 gallon, 55 gallon and when im old enough to ahve my own 100 gallon but that would be atleast 3 to 5 years down the road :D it takes them a year to gorw an inch

Why? You will rarely see it and it will be timid without company  If you can't afford to get the other two or they are out of stock then I can understand :) 3 would be happy in a 55 for a while before you ha to move them

I think clowns will do fine in a 55g, yes its about the min size for them but there is plenty of room for even 3 adults provided the tank is not overstocked elsewhere. Plus, they grow really slowly and you would have years to decide if you want a bigger tank.
