Hi

I have a clown loach and hes got a white patch on one of his black bands it look flat not like fungus it looks like its under his scales what is it? I have half dosed protozin as I have shrimp in my tank and do not have a hospital tank anything else i could try?

Size of tank and inhabitants? Sorry can you explain your water stats, I'm not familiar with the abbrviations. Any other unusual behaviour?

it could be the high phosphate readings causing excess mucous. Maybe do a 50% water change using dechlorinated water with a similar temp & PH to the tank. Then see how they look tomorrow.

Bleached out white patches beneath the skin can be columnaris.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing against objects.

No flicking or rubbing the clown loach and the gourami acts fine I did add the shrimp a few days ago and after I had cloudy white water thats cleared now and this patch had shown up on my clown look like a bleach mark on his black band.

I do EI doseing prob why my results for prosphate are off ive done a dose of protozin but found out it aint good for shrimp I have myaxin and sterazin thye any good?

Myxazin is better for tanks with scaleless fishes or invertebrates (shrimp). Protozin and Sterazin should not be used with those creatures unless its at half dose. (Check the instructions to confirm that).

If the tank went milky cloudy then there was a water quality issue probably from too much food and the filter struggling to cope with it. This would cause the fish to produce more mucous and develop a white film on their body and eyes.
If the tank ever goes milky white again then do a big (75-80%) water change and don't feed for a couple of days. (Make sure you use dechlorinated water with a similar temp & PH to the tank).

Don't wash filter materias out under tap water because that can kill the beneficial filter bacteria and cause water quality issues. Always wash filter media in a bucket of tank water.
