I've been keeping fish for a decade now. This tanks inhabitants are listed below.

We recently relocated and had to transport the fish about 300 miles. We made sure the new tank in the new house was completely cycled prior to moving the fish. We did not lose any fish but within a few weeks of the move the Clowns started exhibiting white edges on their tailfins. I figured it came from the stress of being boxed up and moved. I closely monitored the new tank water parameters and never allowed them to get out of the desirable range. I've had these Clown Loaches for 8 years and they are getting fairly big. They have never been sick. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that one of the Clowns had Ich. (First time ever I have had to deal with this) I treated the Ich with a 2/3rds dose of Coppersafe and treated the water with 5 tablespoons of dissolved aquarium salt. I've used Coppersafe in the tank that the Clowns were in before so I knew the risks and I watched for any signs of distress and there were none. All but one of the Clowns lost the white spots. The one Clown that didn't is the Clown that has the progressive deterioration of the tailfin. A couple of the other Clowns also have some white on the edge of the tailfins but it is not getting any worse than it has been since I first noticed it after the move.

I am fairly certain as to what the fish has, I just am not sure what to treat it with. As I said, I've never had to deal with this before. I don't know what the newest medications are or how well they work, which is why I am here. All of the fish in the tank behave normally except the one Clown. I can and will move him to a hospital tank if necessary but I am more afraid what the stres of moving him to a tank and isolating him from the other Clowns will do. This is a very social group that has hung together for all these years.

Any suggestions out there on what to treat this tank with? Like I said, I am definitely not new to fishkeeping and I feel confident in the actions I have taken so far...

Thank you for any responses in advance....

I have also found that salt baths help sort out any "rot" problems !

I know you have put salt in already !

But salt really does help in the healing process :D

Good Luck :D

Sure he/she will be fine
