hey everyone need some help!

my clown loach is breathing quite heavily and lying on its side. Now i know they tend to sleep on their sides alot but this one out of the three seems to be breathing the hardest! please help been doing water changes every 2 days 25%

unfortunately i think my test kits have gone off because they keep giving me off readings theyre about a year old

can anyone suggest whats wrong with it

ive got an aereator on and uv sterliser running for the water and external filter. Water is crystal clear its just he seems to be breathing v fast!

dont want to loose him

Its going to be hard without water stats.
How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Preform a water change.

180 litre

1 betta

3 danios

4 male guppys

2 cory cats

x 2 clown loach (lost the other one a few weeks ago still waiting for lfs to get them back) i realise that the tank isnt the right size for them but they have their cave to hide away in and am going to transfer them to a 460 litre later on when its set up

did a 25% water change about an hour ago

Wihtout stats its hard the first thing to look at when a fish is laboured breathing.
Do a water change to see if that helps.
Laboured breathing, poor water quality, parasites to bacterial.
Take as sample of your tank water to the lfs and tell them to write the readings down for you.
Is the clown loach skinny.

Does he look bloated.
Check the anus of the fish to see if its enlarged on red and inflamed.

You absolutely need a test kit to be able to get good help. Wilder is excellent but working blind. Are you using aquarium salt? SH

if it helps.. my friend had these fish for a couple of months in his biorb at which i was shocked at! so i took them off his hands and put them in my tank do you reckon theyre growth has somewhat been stunted since being a biorb going into a 180 litre?

To be honest he sounds like a goner.
Sounds like swim bladder but they can show them symtoms when dying sorry.
I would do a water change till you can get water stats tested.

Remove the salt clown loaches don't tolerate salt to well.
The biorb sounds like it done the damage way to small.
