Clown Knifefish - What Do You Feed Yours?

Question really for any clown knife owners
Had my fish now for about 18 months and hes about 14 inches long
what concerns me is he only eats pellet food as in the floating cichlid pellets and sinking catfish pellets, heeats plenty don;t get me wrong but I;m sure he'd be better off eating some prawn, lancefish as well but he just ignores i. Does anyone else have one and what do you feed yours?

In my opinion as long as its a good pellet and has the nutrional goodness the fish requires it doesn't really matter. You could try the good all not feeding them for a few days then pop something else in.

I don;t feed him all the time anyhow he just doesn;t have an interest in any of it, the biggest predator in my tank turns his nose up at it!! lol

We have a shop 'pet' Clown Knife called Mack *rolls eyes* Mack the Knife... *sigh!*... He lives with senegal birchirs but not oscars, he HATES oscars, for some reason he has killed every oscar he was ever in with...

Mack will eat anything that will fit in his mouth, im pretty sure he'd eat the birchir like it was spaghetti if he thought he could catch the nippy wee thing (fastest and most active birchir ever!).

One really good high protein sinking pellet aimed at carnivores is Hikari Massivore Delite. Aparently each pellet has the same goodness like protein as 2 goldfish. They stink like dead goldfish too! But they are chunky enough that big fish eat them, even fussy feeders seem to like these pellets! Other than that, frozen foods like prawns, mussel and cockle too...

I put squid , mussells and lance fish in my tank on Tuesday fished it out after work today, not been touched. Bichir wasnt botherd by it , oscar just looked at it. It'll take prawns though, maybe ill try king prawns or something. Fish are strange arnt they! Brought some earth worms today and the only thing that had a nip at it was the silver dollar's think they've probs burried in the sand now. Put like 10 in my snakehead tank and all hell broke loose, gone in the space of like 5-10minutes.

Most of the time i think it's luck and persaverance.

they're between 5 and 6 inches in length but as you;ll know they're that high as well lol

You've got 8 if i remeber rightly, i'm going to check im not fully stocked first, if people think not i'll take a few.
Yeh they do get nice and tall too.
