I recently started a 55 gallon salt water tank. It was a fresh water tank for two years and I had the new salt water running for about 4 weeks and tested twice by two different stores....they both gave the go ahead. I bought two mated clown fish that have been fine for over 3 weeks. For the last two days one of the fish has been laying on the bottom of the rock. There does not appear to be any sign of illness on the outside of its body.

Any ideas?

OK, what are your water stats for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and salinity (somtimes also called Specific Gravity or SG)?
What system are you using (FOWLR, FO, Blemum/Berlin e.t.c.) for your filtration?
What heard-wear and decor do you have?
Other than bottom sitting, what other symptoms can you see?

This is predominantly a freshwater section of the forum, so you may get a quicker and better responce about this question in Marine Chat, as I am only a beginner marine keeper also...

All the best

besides what Rabbut said, what is the temperature in the tank?

if everything is ok with the tank and the fish were wild caught, it could be suffering from cyanide poisoning. But more info is required to give a more positive id of the problem. A picture would help :)
