im planning on setting up a 15 gallon nano.

i have kept 2 clowns before. but i had a break and i now want another go at marine.

i would like to have 2 occeloris clowns juveniles so they get on

and a cardinal fish the black and white ones.

or instead of cardinal a firefish

orca tl 450.

i might just go with one clown "nemo"

a bangai cardinal fish

and a yellow clown goby.

would i be fully stoked at that?

You might squeeze one more fish in provided the water chemistry is stable and suitable at 3 fish. May I suggest going with two clowns of the same species (either ocellaris, percula or pink skunk clowns; choosen on the basis of they are the three smallest clownfish species). They are really interesting to watch in pairs and usually form breeding pairs which means they may spawn. Banggai cardinals are really beautiful fish but incredibly boring; they usually float static in the middle tank region for hours. You will certainly want some dynamics to the tank which can be added by the clowns. Clown fish never stay still even when they are sleeping at night they still have that wiggling swimming gait.

Good luck and welcome to the salty side :good:

Regards

marine fish slee? i thought they just powernapped(where there brain closes down fo 30 seconds and they gain about 5 hours of energy)

yes i know i should keep the same species of clown. dont like pink skunks. which is likely to stay the smallest. occelaris or percula.

i think bangai cardinals are very attractive.

so what do you recomend 3 fish max?

other than bangai cardinals i like fire fish and dracula gobies and also yellow clown gobys. i know its not possible to have all fo them.

what do you reccomend considering i would do weekly 10 % - 20 % water changes

i have a 29 gallon tank with a picasso triggerfish a blue damsel and a velentini pufferfish ive had a couple clowns but i would highly advise against purchasing a clown for your tank they are very prone to "the spins" which is a parasite that effects there equilibrium and ends up resulting in death and worse case scenario it can spread to other fish. there great to look at and a highly charactered fish but i would advise agains them.

that could also be something to do with the clown being housed with a trigger, very aggressive fish that should only be housed in massive tanks around 100 gallons.

Inm my experience and all the stuff ive read about clowns once established they are pretty bullet proof and go on for years and years

im thinking of getting a 128 liter tank, so the clowns have a bit more space.

ive come up with a stocking list (still a feasibility).

2 percula or occelaris clowns introduced as juveniles
1 yellow clown goby or 1 dracula goby.
1 bangai cardinal
1 purple firefish

I think the stock sounds good but firefish tend to be very skittish if not kept in pairs or groups
so I wink you should go with the 128l so thats 33g?
well you could go with 2 clowns 2 firefish 1 cardinal 1 clown goby
IMO that would be ok
