I made a post a while ago about his mouth being open permanently. the last 2 days he been sitting on the corner of the tank. Today he is floating at the top looking very weak and the other clown is poking him. Please what should i do :( i don't have an extra tank for qt either.

test results showing fine.

30gal 2 clowns, 1 dottyback
runing the tank since 2009 dec.

Can he eat.
If he looks in bad shape and not going to make it I would end his suffering.

How big are the clown loaches.

he can eat, but he hasn't eat'n in 2 days of feeding, i dont hve loaches, 2 clown fish, 1 royal dottyback.

Sorry not used to seeing marine fish posted on here.
Have you posted in the marine section of the forum.

TBH, one of my cardinal tetras has this, he has had it for 2 months or so now, he eats fine. I dont know what it is either, he is also very quiet and sits under plants.

Al I know about open mouths is that something could be lodged in the mouth, sores or ulcers in the mouth.
Or its a injury or dislocated jaw.
There also erratic red mouth desease, But mouth and tummy are usually red.

okay. what should i do that he is ill?

Have you tryed moving his jaw back into place.
Can you load a pic up onto the site.

Didn't really get a close view just noticed he was headstanding.
Going up and down the glass can be a sign of stress.

I would try a bacterial med just to make sure he dosn't have an infection.
If he goes further downhill I would end his misery. Sorry.

hat was taken yesterday. today he is mainly at the top.
do you know a good website that diagnoses like a chart for marine fish?

Is the mouth area white.
Don't have a chart for marine fish.

no it's not white. just open mouth no other physical signs.

Ok. Justed wanted to make sure.

There isn't much info on the net about fish with open mouths.
All I can say it could be a injury.

Can you issolate and try a bacterial med. As headstanding can be bacterial to swim bladder.
