I wanted to do a preventive treatment for velvet on my 90g because I feared there was cross contamination.
So I bought CLOUT...I read a dozen sites about it to find out if it was safe for BGK and all of them said it was safe and using full dosage would do no harm.

They were wrong. Day one they seemed little affected by the treatment, but day two was a different story.
It left them gasping for air at the top, swimming erratically and with their sides turning pale (as they tend to do under extreme stress).
I did a 50% water change and they are looking much better this morning.

I actually slept on the couch and checked on them every hour over night...it took from 10pm until 4 am for them to stop gasping at the top...

I would never ever ever recommend using CLOUT on BGK unless you see def signs of velvet and even then ,I would use half doses and nothing more ...

JMO,but hope it prevents someone else from making the same mistake ...

Advice noted, same for botias and elephant noses i take it?
Actually I have blue botia in that tank, and it did not seem to affect them in any way.

I would assume elephant nose would be affected as the ones I've had in the past seemed to be affected by the same things as the BGK...
