Hi all

I've just set up a tropical tank. I did a fishless cycle for three weeks and made sure levels were fine for the introduction of 6 jumbo neons. I've had them a week and paid careful attention to how they were settling in. All seems fine apart from white cloudy material appearing on the suction pads of the heater, filter and the thermometer.

What is this? Algae, bacteria or eggs? Should i be getting rid of it?

Any advice much appreciated.

i get the same as you and im sure every one else does as well.
it's nothing to worry about, i just clean it off when i do my tank cleaning.

I agree. It's a fungal growth of some kind and is nothing to worry about. If you just leave it, it will clear up in its own time. I find cleaning it off is useless as it seems to just come back.
