Cloudy Water?

Yes, go ahead, it can't do any harm and if it is debris, or a precipitate, that's what these pads are for.

Ok I'll put them on my petco list for today. Hopefully they're cheap :/

Just make sure they actually fit your filter. Aren't the pf10 and pf30 made by Tetra; will the Fluval pad fit?

Made by aqueon just got home and it fits if I put both pads in. If one it only fits half way.

Sorry I've had a lot of questions this week lol.

Ever since I added fluval biomax ceramic rings to use as media my 29 gallon tank has gotten a little cloudy. I do weekly water changes and gravel vac of about 25% of the water and then once a month I do a 40-50% change and vac. What could be causing this? I added the biomax rings to my ten gallon and it's not cloudy? I don't really want to use chemicals to clear it but it is a little annoying. It may be a bacterial bloom, but what could have caused it and how do I fix it. The tank has been running for almost 6 months now. 6 months January 15th or so.
Do you own any bottom feeder pelets? If you do then make sure they eat them!

Well looks like a bacterial bloom. It covers the whole tank now not just the top 7/8ths. I went to buy the water polishing pads but accidentally bought some type of fluval sponge that I didn't realize until I read the box AFTER I had them in the filter. They are large political sponges so not really working but I left them in anyways. I'm going to get polishing pads someday soon to see if it works, but what can I do if it is a bacterial bloom, which I think it is.

Oops particle sponges not political lol. Auto correct.

Political sponges...LOL! :D

If it's a bacterial bloom you don't have to do anything special, it'll clear on its own after a few days. Just make sure your filter outlet is disturbing the surface of the water as much as possible to aerate the tank as the bacteria use up lots of oxygen.

Should I lower the water level a few inches??? Or put in an air stone??

Anything that agitates the surface of the water will do so adjust your filter output (lower the water if that's not possible) or, as you suggest, add an airstone. Don't worry too much about it.

K added an airstone and lowered the water 2 inches. K I hope it clears up. I also hope my new tetra air pump comes today. This petco one is loud :|
