Is cloudy water normal in the beginning of a fish cycle? I know that water changes will get rid of it. but i heard you're not supposed ot do any water changes while you're cycling a tank.. my tank has been cycling for 2 days, so it's just beginning.

Just wondering if cloudy water is normal for the beginning or not?

If the water started out clear and now its cloudy then thats quite normal. Its probably a bacteria bloom. Is the cloudiness white/gray? what are your parameters at the moment? :)

Yea, it was completely clear in the beginning. just started being cloudy today..
Yup, it's white smokey cloud.. bacteria bloom

PH is 8.0 (it's gonna be a cichlid tank), ammonia is just starting to build it's .50 and Nitrite is 0

If you do not have any fish in the tank, then you don't need to do any water changes and your cycle will be faster and you don't need to worry about the cloudy water (bacteria bloom as already mentioned)

However if you do have fish, then water changes are neccesary.
