is the result of? I just changed my water and it clouds up within a day or two. Ideas?

Its most likely a result of overfeeding, extra leftover food and lots of poop will cause the water to cloud :good:

gravel plays a big role?

well my 2.5g tank i put like, marbles in it. and its the one that fogs up.

i have a 2g tank that had a kit with gravel for it already, and that one always seem clear. maybe that is why? i should buy new gravel?

If it's a greenish kind of cloudy then it is probably unicellular algae. If it's a milky kind of cloudy it may be due to bacteria.

If its a complete water change you`re doing then your tank could be cycling all from over!I normally experience this as the bacteria starts to bloom after a day or two.
I suggest if thats the case then remove your fish and let the cycle complete.

Cycling is nothing to do with the water. The beneficial bacteria live in the filter or on the gravel/substrate. If he doesnt have a filter then its unlikley that the tank is cycled in any way at all.
