Hi

does anyone know how to clear the water? We've changed the filter, and its still not clearing, its just really cloudy.. any help would be appreciated! thanks.

Sorry to answer the question with more questions.. but in order to stop the cloudiness, the best way is to find out why its there..

How long has the tank been up and running?

Have you checked for the levels of ammonia, nitrites and nitrates in the tank?

Is it cloudy, or a murky colour... i.e. have you put something new into the tank such as bogwood?

Has anything changed in the tank recently?

Squid

when my water was cloudy, it turned out it was because i was over feeding the fish. so cutting down the fish food and doing a water change cleared it right up. of course thats only one answer, it could be a number of things like squid said

Hiya

thanks for your replies,,

had it up and running for about 2 or 3 months,

we've not recently tested the water for any of the nitrates, nitrites or ammonia/ but will do this weekend!! and its a murky colour.. it was clear until a week ago and nothings changed no bogwood, nothing,.. we've done the water change as normal and cleaned the filter as normal.. fishes are starting to die daily so am getting worried..

I'll do the water tests tonight..

thanks again..

Cleaned the filter?

how exactly did you clean the filter?

hmm we do need more info, if you cleaned the filter in fresh tap water you have have killed your beneficial bacteria. If they are dying you really need to test the water fast. Over feeding sounds likely, your ammonia levels could be really high. Do you add water conditioner when you do your water changes?
