Three days ago, i bought 2 siamese fighters. The tank has 3 sections, one for each fish and a space (for a new fish)
My concern is the water in the 2 individual sections with fish in them is going cloudy. The water in the section which does not have a fish is still clear.

What is this and how can we fix the prob and clear the water?
Cheers! :good:

How much and how often are you feeding the fish. Do you have anykind of filter on it ? Did you wash the dividers and tank out before putting water into it?

I have phoned the pet shop. They said i might be overfeeding them. Also it could be bacterial bloom in a new tank.
The dividers came already in the tank.
We are going to do a 2/3 water change and keep the fish in 1/3 of the water. Clean the tank and get rid of the small amount of excess food on the bottom of the tank. Hopefully that will fix the problem... :/ They are such beautiful fishies! Ill get pics up soon!

If the cloud starts off milky white and then turns green, it is not a bacterial bloom, but an algae bloom most likely caused by overfeeding.

Thanks guys for your help. We started to feed them a little less, and the water began to clear itself up :) this is a very helpful forum
