Cloudy Water

Questions for the Experts.

My 60 gallon has been suffering from a bacteria bloom that causes mily water. My question is when do water changes, should I do a gravel Vac or just water change only.
I heard arguements for both sides.

yes on Gravel Vac- removes decaying particles and organic matetr
no on Gravel Vac- destroys nessary bacteria to clear up water.


I really want to get rid of my this milky water... HELP!!

ive just reciently had the same problem, i did a water change and added fine filter floss to my filter along with a product bought fron my local fish shop, which was purley for removing bacterial blooms, ( normally occurs on new tank set ups) and it worked extremley well.
